Material Information:
- MDF (Medium-density fibreboard): MDF is a derivative of wood made by compressing wood fibers with resins. It is denser than chipboard and resistant to wear. Additionally, it does not absorb moisture.
- Chipboard: Chipboard is a composite wood material made from small pieces of wood, usually pine or spruce, glued together under high pressure and temperature using resins. It is widely used in furniture construction, interior surfaces, and structural applications. Made from recycled materials, it is resistant to curves, abrasions, and other natural stresses.
- Melamine (LPB): LPB (Low Pressure Melamine) melamine is a synthetic material widely used in the surface treatment of chipboard in furniture and surfaces construction due to its durability and ease of maintenance. It is applied to substrates such as MDF or OSB to produce durable surfaces.
- Metal: Metal is widely used in furniture construction, offering several advantages over other materials. It is highly resistant to wear and tear, ideal for furniture intended for daily use in demanding environments. It maintains its shape and structure perfectly, ensuring stability and longevity in furniture. In addition to the mentioned properties, metal can also have other characteristics, such as antimicrobial action (copper) or conductivity (lead).
Maintenance Instructions:
- MDF: To clean, use a soft dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. For stains, use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and mild soap. Gently wipe the surface until the stain is removed. Finally, wipe the surface thoroughly with a dry cloth. MDF is sensitive to moisture, so it is important to protect it from moisture. Wipe off any liquids immediately. Do not use strong cleaners or chemicals, as they may damage the MDF.
- Chipboard: For cleaning chipboard, you can use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water and mild detergent. Avoid excessive use of water and keep the surface dry after cleaning.
- Melamine (LPB): To remove stains from the surface, use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and mild soap. Gently wipe the surface until the stain is removed. Melamine is sensitive to moisture, so it is important to protect it from water.
- Metal: For any indoor metal, dusting or cleaning with a damp cloth at regular intervals is the recommended option. However, for outdoor metal furniture, follow these steps for better maintenance:
- For extended protection, apply protective cream to your metal furniture, easily available from commercial stores.
- If your furniture is treated and painted with the powder-coating method, it is highly durable and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth.
- If your metal furniture does not have powder coating, take extra care and keep it away from water and moisture. You can cover them with special covers, and during winter, if possible, place them indoors.
- If you notice rust, remove it with kerosene and then apply anti-corrosion varnish before painting the surface with rust-resistant paint.
