CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:
The TESSA chair is almost entirely made of polypropylene except for the chrome-plated “star” base and the seat frame which are metal and incorporate all the adjustment mechanisms and of course the suspension which can “lift” up to 120 kg of weight. Polypropylene is particularly resistant to weight and water, while it has great resistance to temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius. Also, its durability is not limited to weight, water and temperature but is unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, acids, and bases.
The upholstery of the chair has been made entirely with excellent quality PU leather. This is also known as synthetic leather or faux leather. This has a linen fabric texture. Synthetic leather is the evolution of leatherette but with the main characteristic that it is not easily distinguished from real leather. Its composition is basically polyurethane and polyamide micro-fibers in contrast to leatherette which basically contains PVC.
MAINTENANCE:
The chair is easy to clean. PU leather is cleaned with a damp cloth and only in case of persistent stains you can use a mild cleaner. In general, PU does not wrinkle and is not affected by the sun.
The metal base of course, all that is needed is a polishing with a wet cloth. The caster wheels should be cleaned at regular intervals of any tangled hair, for smoother and quieter rolling. Avoid the use of bleaching substances.
