Description
This is the Bergere HM0053.01 in dark BROWN color and wooden legs in black color. The feature that makes this armchair stand out is that its Chesterfield-style design gives it a sense of prestige and luxury wherever it is used. The main feature of this style is the lining with PU leather, which on the backrest is in a deep quilted style, serving the Chesterfield style.
Mini Story: The story of the Bergere (see bergere) begins somewhere in 1720, in the salons of the Palace of Versailles during the time of Louis XV, where it was considered the seat of the nobles and the upper class. Its construction from special wood, combined with the luxurious fabrics of the time, gave it the feeling of a throne. From its early years it was considered the “queen” of seating, both for the privacy it offered with its open arms, high back and turned sides, and for its dominance of the space as a decorative element. The Bergere armchair changed its appearance over the years (depending on the season and fashion). Dressed in floral fabrics, leather, many different patterns with various textures, even Chesterfield. Although over the years we have seen variations of the bergere design, like dressed arms, higher backrests, bigger cushions, the basic idea of the large, comfortable armchair has never changed. A big comfortable armchair is often better than a whole sofa.
Info: Quilting is a type of fabric or a sewing technique where the seams form various patterns and folds or bumps. In quilting, the fabric is like an “inflatable” that is held by the seams which “sink” the fabric. So, many small puffy bumps are created in the quilting that stand out from each other by the seams. These bumps can be diamonds, squares, stripes, as well as many other designs. The purpose of this style is to break the monotony by creating different patterns on the fabric. This improves the overall image of the object. It gives a sense of luxury and detail in the design.
The Chesterfield-style features are solidity, deep-quilted leather or faux leather upholstery, low seat, and rounded corners. It is important to know that by “Chesterfield” we mean a style of furniture and not a specific brand of furniture.
DIMENSIONS:
83X75X107 cm.
Seat dimensions: 51X53 cm.
Seat height: 46 cm.
Height of arms: 61 cm.
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:
The frame of the armchair, as well as the carved legs, are made of excellent quality wood, which gives it solidity and great durability.
The “fillings” of the armchair, both on the backrest and on the seat, are made of medium hardness foam materials that offer premium body support.
The entire armchair is upholstered in high quality PU leather. This is synthetic leather and has a linen texture. Synthetic leather is the evolution of leatherette but with the main characteristic that it is not easily distinguished from real leather. Its composition is basically polyurethane and polyamide micro-fibers in contrast to leatherette which basically contains PVC.
MAINTENANCE:
Thanks to the durable construction materials, the armchair is user-friendly. PU leather does not need special maintenance because it does not wear easily, does not “wrinkle”, and the color is not affected by solar radiation. One wipe with a soft damp cloth is enough. If there is a stain that does not come out with a wet cloth, then only a mild detergent with a neutral effect can be used.
